Rashid Talha

I am a grad student in the mathematics section of the postgraduate diploma programme at The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy.

I completed my Bachelor's degree in mathematics at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan. My final year project, which was selected as the best project in 2025, was titled "Ehresmann Connections on Fibre Bundles" and supervised by Dr Tooba Feroze.

Previously I received DipHE in mathematics and physics from the University of Warwick, UK. This consists of the first two years of the joint integrated masters programme in maths and physics.

I enjoy studying mathematics and physics, with a focus on differential geometry and gravitational physics. I am currently doing advanced studies in these areas in preparation for postgraduate research in theoretical physics.

Some of my recent projects include:

  • Ehresmann Connections on Fibre Bundles (BS Mathematics, Final Year Project)
  • Development of software for data discovery and analysis for oceanographic acoustic modelling (With Dr Muhammad Asif Farooq)
  • Feasibility study of auto-encoders and CNNs for fluid dynamic simulations of aortic blood flow (With Dr Muhammad Asif Farooq)
  • Analysis of the trajectories of multipole solutions of the 5th order mKdV equation in 1+1D (With Dr Ahmad Javid)
  • Efficient numerical generation of topologies on a finite set using Julia
